Catherine Havasi is a scientist who specializes in artificial intelligence (AI) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab. She is also co-founder and CEO of Luminoso, a company that uses artificial intelligence, natural language processing and machine learning to derive insights from unstructured data such as live chat transcripts, product reviews, open survey responses and email. Havasi was a member of MIT’s group Open Mind Common Sense (OMCS), an artificial intelligence project whose goal is to build and utilize a large common-sense knowledge base from the contributions of thousands of people across the Internet.
